Valentine's Day Chocolate Covered Strawberries

These Chocolate Covered Strawberries are decadently delicious! Strawberries dipped into chocolate is the perfect dessert for Valentine's Day, or ANY DAY! Only 3 ingredients, it is super easy to make at home!

Ingredients

  • 16 oz strawberries
  • 12 oz baking chocolate or chocolate chunks, chocolate chips
  • 4 oz white chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Wash and pat dry strawberries.
  • Chop chocolate into smaller pieces if needed. Melt chocolate in the microwave on 50% power for 1 minute. Remove and stir.
  • Bring chocolate back to the microwave, melt on 50% power for 30 seconds. Remove and stir.
  • Repeat step 3 until chocolate is smooth and completely melted.
  • Holding the leafy end of the strawberry, dip strawberry into melted chocolate. Then placed strawberry on a plate lined with parchment or wax paper. Repeat for all the strawberries. Set aside chocolate dipped strawberries in the refrigerator.
  • Optional: Consume the rest of the chocolate :)
  • Melt white chocolate in the microwave on 50% power for 30 seconds. Remove and stir. Repeat until white chocolate is smooth and completely melted.
  • Bring white chocolate into a zip lock bag, and snip a VERY SMALL opening on one corner of the zip lock bag.
  • Remove strawberries from refrigerator. Squeeze white chocolate out from the opening and draw thin horizontal lines (or anything else you want) on strawberries.
  • Refrigerate strawberries for 10 minutes so that chocolate hardens. 
  • Serve and enjoy!

Notes

Other ways to melt chocolate/white chocolate:
  • pot method: heat the chocolate on low heat in a pot while stirring continuously. Remove promptly from heat once chocolate is melted.
  • double moiler method: place 1 to 2 inches of water in a small pot and place a bowl that can withstand heat in the pot (water should not go into the bowl). Heat pot, place chocolate in the bowl and keep stirring until chocolate is completely melted.
