Sweet and Sour Chicken is a classic Chinese takeout dish well-loved all over the world. In our homemade version, chicken is lightly coated in flour mixture, panfried and then tossed in a delicious sauce that is tangy, sweet and sour.

Cut chicken into pieces and pat dry. Mix flour, cornstarch and salt together and whisk egg. Dip chicken into the egg and then coat with flour.
Heat oil in a skillet, then add chicken pieces. Flip chicken over once one side is cooked. Cook until it reaches 165°F. Remove chicken from skillet.
Clean skillet and stir fry veggies for 1 minute, then set aside. Bring the sauce ingredients to a boil, then lower heat and let it simmer for a minute or so, or until sauce thickens slightly.
Toss the chicken, peppers, onions, and pineapple pieces in with the sauce. Serve with rice.
