Chocolate Chess Pie

A classic Southern dessert! Buttery flaky crust is loaded with a rich, gooey, decadent chocolate filling. This indulgent dessert is perfect for the holidays, served with whipped cream or ice cream.

Place pie crust in the pie plate. Place butter and chocolate in a microwave safe dish. Melt by microwaving at 50% power for 30 second intervals, stirring in between intervals.


Once melted, add evaporated milk, vanilla extract, and egg. In a separate bowl, mix dry ingredients together: sugar, flour, and unsweetened cocoa powder.

Combine dry ingredients into wet ingredients. Mix well. Pour mixture into pie crust. Bake 40-45 minutes. Remove promptly from oven, and let pie cool for 10-15 minutes.

Once cooled, serve with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or both! Serve and enjoy!
