Caramelized Baked Sweet Potato Halves

Just like a baked sweet potato but sliced in halves and roasted flash side down! Sweet potatoes will caramelized on the outside with sticky, golden edges, while the insides stay soft and fluffy. A ridiculously easy oven side that tastes kinda like dessert!

Equipment

Ingredients
 

  • 2-2.5 lb sweet potatoes ~ 3 potatoes
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil
  • ½ tsp salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400℉. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Cut eat sweet potato in half length wise. Place cut side up on lined baking sheet.
  • Spread oil over the cut side and sprinkle with salt. Flop over and use hands to rub the uncut side with oil. Leave the sweet potatoes cut side down.
  • Place in oven can cook 45-50 minutes or until the cut side of the sweet potato begins to caramelize and the insides are soft.
  • Remove from oven when it's done and let it sit for a few minutes before flipping over.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Notes

For less caramelization cook for 35 minutes.
