Ingredients

  • 2 cups apple sliced thinly into small pieces
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup 2% milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Crumble

  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter cold, cut into small cubes
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  • Pre heat oven to 350 degrees F
  • Prepare apples by removing skin and slicing into small thin pieces
  • To make bread mixture, mix together softened unsalted butter with granulated sugar, then add milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix to combine.
  • Add dry mixture - all purpose flour, baking powder, salt. Mix well. Then fold into apple pieces.
  • To make crumble mixture, cube cold butter into small cubes, then add the rest of the crumble ingredients. Use a pastry cutter to cut and combine crumble mixture until butter are mixed in and cut into small pieces. Or pulse mixture in food processor to combine.
  • Line a 9" x 5" bread pan with parchment paper or grease bread pan (See Note 1). Add half of the apple bread mixture, then top with half of the crumble mixture. Add the rest of the apple bread mixture, and then finish off with the rest of the crumble mixture.
  • Bake in the oven for 1 hour 10 minutes. When done, insert a toothpick into the center of the bread, if toothpick does not come out clean, bake for a few more minutes until toothpick comes out clean.
  • Remove from oven and let bread cool in bread pan for 10 minutes. Then remove bread from bread pan and let it cool on a cooling rack for another 25-30 minutes.
  • Slice, serve and enjoy!
