Hello Penny, I had the same trouble with my butter not incorporating into the liquid so I stopped and quick check the comments. I was so happy to see your comment and your solution. My husband has his heart set on the cake for dessert tonight and I don’t want to let him down. Thank you for posting your problem and solution.

I had a problem using the softened butter in the making of the batter for the cake. Whisking it didn’t fully incorporate it into the liquid, so I ended up having to microwave it until it melted. Once added to the dry ingredients, though, it successfully formed the cake batter and my cake baked up correctly. I’m curious to know if I’m the only person who had trouble with this step.

Brings back soooo many memories of my Momma having Dad flip the cake after she could no longer pick up the cast iron skillet at 92 yrs old!

Excellent flavor and texture. My grandkids helped me make this. We used fresh pineapple, saving all the juices that ran out while cutting. We also used browned butter; which I usually have on hand because it tastes so good. The cake was moist and gooey, sticky and finger lickin’ good! I think they left me a couple slices. Thanks for a great recipe to share with my grandkids!
